An old joke
For some reason, an old joke seems to be making the rounds in various blogs. The joke claims that the following advertisement appeared in some local newspaper:
FOR SALE BY OWNER: Complete set of Encyclopaedia Britannica. 45 volumes. Excellent condition.
$1,000 or best offer. No longer needed, got married last month. Wife knows everything.
I wonder if this ever actually happened. Can anyone point to an actual newspaper in which this advertisement appeared?
